For nearly a decade now, a gathering of artists has been taking place in Edmonton each Saturday, their collective presence standing as a testament to their seasoned experience and artistic maturity. This isn't a congregation of young, naive novices; rather, it's an assembly of individuals who have meticulously honed their craft over time. Bound together by a shared love for unabashed artistic expression, they convene in local cafés, where tables are pushed together, transforming the space into a hub of creative energy.

Noll Derriksan's artistic journey began in the 1960s, making him one of the first contemporary syilx artists in the Okanagan. He drew inspiration from syilx culture, childhood teachings, and native species, creating a unique visual language that continues to influence contemporary syilx artists today.

Using the works of three of histories best known printmakers this exhibition explores how the art of printmaking became one of the most democratic disciplines of art by allowing more accessible to the general public.

Ari Neufeld will be joining our featured exhibits during the time of the Ignite the Arts Festival in the Toni Onley Gallery. Ari is a second generation British Columbian, raised by missionary parents.

In the spring of 2018 the much loved Dr. Michael Sime was recognized by the Penticton arts community at the annual Penticton and District Community Arts Council’s Arts Awards Gala with their highest honour, the lifetime achievement award for his contributions to the development and support of the arts community here in the South Okanagan.

The work Kristen Roos creates explores the premise that weavings created by punched card Jacquard looms of the 1800s were the first example of an image created from data, as a kind of early form of digital image. This connects to his research with personal computers, and would add a wider historical context to his research into the roots of the digital image.

This incredible collection of artwork was assembled between 1958-59 by Ken and Gladys Davis who were living at that time in Guadalajara, Mexico where they were assisting with the restoration of Mexican churches.

Over the past year the famed Canadian musician, activist, and author Rae Spoon partnered with illustrator Gem Hall to produce Green Glass Ghosts, their first Y.A. novel to be published by Arsenal Pulp Press this spring. This exhibition will feature the original illustrations for this book.

Dirk Van Stralen saw his first cartoon published in Coquitlam’s Tri-City News in 1987. In 1990 he began a 17 year relationship with the Georgia Straight producing the much loved and award-winning weekly single panel cartoon, “vanstralen”.
